Virtual appliances which are pre-defined with virtual images will have a number of predefined configuration points for the server itself and also for cross technology interfaces such as databases, application and security servers. reducing the number of permutations and combinations will bring clarity and elegance to you cloud based enterprise.
Cloud computing adds complexities; configuration changes can be found at each stage of the lifecycle(test, QA, production) and this makes moving code from environment to environment a challenging task. How do you ensure that your development and test platforms are the SAME as what your hosting service provider (that manages your cloud) uses? Guess what!! It won’t be!!
